Chandra's Quest on Goodreads

When I was on Goodreads, I noticed there are several variation of my book. The difference is that they all have a different book cover image. The first edition looked like this:

published in 2003

The second edition looks like this:

published in 2012

Below are other book cover images I used throughout the 2010s. I changed the cover several times before I decided on one.

I once used this image for a book cover, and it was painted by my dad. Unfortunately, I added him as a contributor for that edition when I used the cover image.

I was really focused on impressing my dad's family when I joined Facebook, wanting them to see my work as a published author. I thought they'd be happy to see me using one of my dad's pictures, but looking back, I know that wasn't the best approach. Eventually, I figured out that trying to please everyone is not making me happy, so I decided to change it again and go back to this cover and that's why on Goodreads you'll see this one but this is the one that has the details right:

The details on Goodreads for Chandra's Quest can be a bit inconsistent, but I've included screenshots below of the specific edition that readers should use to leave their reviews and ratings. Below I added the link to it.

The page count for the book is spot on, as I've merged Books 1 through 4 into a single volume, making the total 567 pages. The date it was published is a bit off though, it's still going by the edition with that cover image. There are very few paperback books out there with that particular image.

If you've read this book, I’d love for you to share your reviews. Just follow the link below, it will take you to the page. I promise there won’t be any more changes to this Chandra's Quest; this is the final book cover. For those who haven't read the first four books, this edition includes all of them.

Chandra's Quest Available On Apple Books

I have recently combined all four books of the Chandra's Quest trilogy into a single full-length novel, which is now available on Amazon Kindle. However, I've noticed a discrepancy between the page count and what is displayed in the document file. Additionally, I have uploaded an EPUB version of the book to Google Play and Apple Books. I am currently in the process of creating the audiobook version, but given that the novel exceeds 500 pages, this will require some time. The paperback edition is also in the works and will take a while to finalize too. What else is on my list to complete? A Time Traveler's Companion. I am in the process of compiling the work while simultaneously releasing sections on Google Play. The complete novel will be available on Amazon and Apple Books. One motivation for sharing it in parts on Google Play is to connect with readers familiar with the fanfiction that inspired this story. However, it's important to note that the novel is only loosely based on that original work and will be written under another pen name I use.

Please do follow me on Facebook & Instagram. I do have a TikTok but it's best to follow and subscribe to me on YouTube, because TikTok's future is a bit flakey. You never know when it will be banned.
(I will be re-uploading Chandra's Quest on AppleBooks after July, please visit website for more info)

Lost in the Backrooms: Mary Kate’s Parents

(I’m dropping some info about MK’s parents, which I’ve been slowly weaving into Vol. 2 of the Phoenix Files as MK’s dreams start to unfold.)

Mary Kate's parents being from the Backrooms, is hardly a secret. This detail is briefly touched upon in Path Less Taken: The Phoenix Files vol. 2. I enjoy dropping hints and spoilers throughout the narrative, allowing readers to catch glimpses of MK's father and mother.

Clearly, MK's mother is a mutant, and her father, a scientist who was trapped during the accident that created the Backrooms, fell in love with MK’s mother. In a desperate attempt to save her from the transformation her body was undertaking, he committed to administering an experimental drug designed to suppress her changes, hoping to prevent her from becoming one of the many creatures that roam the Backrooms.

The experimental drug proved effective, allowing MK’s mother to recover some of her human traits. However, she still kept her feline ears, flowing white hair, and a delicate layer of soft peach fuzz covering her body.

MK’s father conducted experiments on himself prior to administering the drug to MK’s mother, resulting in his own transformation. He now possesses three eyes, including a peculiar one located in the center of his forehead. The catch is that this unusual, catlike eye, when opened, has the power to cause pain and suffering to anyone it locks its gaze upon.

His third eye can also send messages crossing dimensions, whilst in a meditative state. The power of his eye is profound and terrifying to those who encounter him and fall to his rage.

He proclaims himself the king of the Backrooms. It is his world, however MK doesn’t want any part of the Backrooms.  I don't usually drop spoilers, but I hope my readers enjoy this little peek into MK's parents.
